The Rationals Audiences Heat Up for Rationals Rhythm and Blues ANN ARBOR -They stopped the show with their rhythm-intensive R&B sound. Scott Morgan, Steve Correll, Terry Trebandt and Bill Figg better known as The Rationals, brought down the house at Cobo Hall in 1966 as '60s sensation Del Shannon looked on. After a 21 year hiatus, and the unfailing enthusiasm of long-time Rationals fans, the group is performing together again. Audiences starved for the atypical sounds of rhythm and blues-drenched rock 'n' roll will get their fill every time The Rationals step on stage. "That's the music they were always best at ... it's simple, it's powerful and it's direct," Dave Marsh, Rolling Stone 1970. The hoped-for Rationals reunion became reality. Scott Morgan took the stage with his old bandmates for the first time in 23 years and gave the thirty and fony-something crowd what they wanted. The audience, needless to say, ate up the 45 minute set like junkfood. --- William Brennan, Jam Rag March 1991
